Our Founders’ Story
Actify Social was born from a dream that took root in Bry's heart at the tender age of 13.
The dream envisioned a space where people of all shades could practice yoga together under a full moon. This reflected our founder's deepest desires to bring peace and unity to the community through yoga.
In the midst of growing up in a BIPOC community that grappled with poverty, exclusion, and violence, Bry found solace in the practice and the moon while maintaining the belief that one's spirit could evolve even from the harshest environments. Using the practice as a tool to seek self-discovery, self-love, and healing.
Bry was determined to give back to the community and began offering free yoga classes to the elderly and children at a local park. The dedication and commitment finally paid off when a woman-identifying soul by the name of Tracy recognized our founder's talent and offered a paid teaching opportunity! One opportunity led to another, and after years of relentless pursuit, Actify Social was born.
Now, Actify Social dedicates their events to BIPOC women-identifying souls plus their allies for being the first to believe in Bry's potential. This is a true and magical story of a young soul who fought against all odds to fulfill their dreams and create positive change in their community.
A testament to an unwavering amount of determination and how the power of yoga can unite people from all walks of life. Our hope is that nobody ever has to face the same depth of exclusion that our founder once did; therefore, you are welcome here!
